Dr. Bushra Noman

Dr. Bushra Noman, Associate Professor is heading the newly launched Department of Biosciences at SZABIST along with her research endeavors at the Stem Cell Research Centre.

Dr. Noman's research interests are geared towards the large scale propagation of disease and virus free Banana plants for replenish the infected supplies across the country. Her active team of young scientists subject disease index plants to micropropagate under lab conditions (tissue culture), after which the plants are routinely analyzed against infection employing molecular techniques like PCR and ELIZA.

Her team is also involved in tissue culturing of ornamental plants having a high market demand, which are difficult to propagate via conventional modes. These plants include, Lilies and Orchids.
